When the elderly Carl Fredricksen gets sick and tired of living in the city he decides to fly away from all of it by tying thousands of helium balloons to his house. However, as soon as Mr. Fredricksen has taken off he discovers an uninvited guest on his front porch: Russell, a cheerful Wilderness Explorer scout whom Carl Fredricksen thought he had gotten rid of hours ago.
